Recombinant Infectious Laryngotracheitis and Fowl Pox Live Vaccine
Composition and Content
| Disease | Strain | Antigen Content |
|---|---|---|
| ILT + Pox | Recombinant fowlpox virus expressing ILTV gB | ≥ 104.0 PFU/dose |
Appearance
A loose, granular freeze-dried preparation that readily detaches from the vial wall and dissolves rapidly after diluent is added.
Indications
For the prevention of infectious laryngotracheitis and fowl pox in chickens. The duration of immunity is 5 months.
Dosage and Administration
Reconstitute with normal saline according to the number of doses stated on the label. In chicks over 21 days of age, administer by wing-web puncture while avoiding blood vessels. Mild redness and swelling, and occasionally a scab, may occur at the site 3-4 days after vaccination; vaccinated chickens generally return to normal after about 14 days.
Adverse Reactions
Generally, no adverse reactions occur.
Precautions
- 1. Vaccinate healthy chickens only. Do not use in emaciated chickens or birds already exposed to fowl pox virus, as this may affect the immune response.
- 2. Inspect carefully before use. Do not use if the vial is damaged, the label is missing, or foreign matter is present.
- 3. Keep the reconstituted vaccine in a cool place protected from light and use within 4 hours.
