Appearance
A loose, granular freeze-dried preparation that readily detaches from the vial wall and dissolves rapidly after diluent is added.
Indications
For the prevention of infectious bursal disease in chickens.
Dosage and Administration
Administer intranasally, ocularly, or through drinking water to chicks of all breeds. Vaccinate at 7-21 days of age according to the maternal antibody level. Reconstitute with sterile normal saline according to the number of doses stated on the label.
For intranasal or ocular administration, give 1 drop (approximately 0.03 mL) per bird.
For drinking-water administration, determine water volume by age: 5-10 mL per chick at 7-10 days of age and 10-20 mL per chick at 10-21 days of age. Ensure the medicated water is consumed within 2 hours.
Adverse Reactions
Generally, no adverse reactions occur.
Precautions
- 1. For vaccination of healthy chickens only.
- 2. Keep the reconstituted vaccine in a cool place protected from light and use within 2 hours.
- 3. For drinking-water vaccination, use clean water free of chlorine and other disinfectants. Do not use metal containers.
- 4. Depending on the region, season, feed, and other conditions, withhold water for at least 4 hours
